10-13. Restorative Justice Coordinator (“RJC”) Classification

10-13.1. Job Duties/Responsibilities

Restorative Justice Coordinators shall perform duties in accordance with applicable statutes, established guidelines and their job description.

10-13.2. Exempt Status

RJCs are non-exempt employees.

10-13.3. Status Quo after Recognition

No RJC shall suffer a loss in salary or benefits due to the agreement to bring RJCs into the bargaining unit.

10-13.4. Applicability of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

All provisions of the CBA applicable to PSRPs also apply to RJCs except transfers and discipline unless they specifically conflict with the provisions of this Article.

10-13.5. Regular Work Day

RJCs shall work an 8-hour workday, inclusive of a forty-five minute duty free lunch period. All travel time is part of an 8-hour workday, except travel to and from the school each day. The practice of two attendance swipes per day shall be maintained. The work day shall normally begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.; however, the start and end times may vary according to the school start and end times as well as any meetings prior to or after the regular work day (e.g., if a RJC is assigned to a school that starts at 8:30 a.m. and has mandatory administrative meetings at 7:30 a.m., the RJCs day would start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.). It is understood that RJCs may be required to work outside their regular workday or workweek schedule.

10-13.6. Work Year

RJCs are employed on a 208-day basis.

10-13.7. Paid Time Off

RJCs in 208-Day Schedules will receive the same paid-time off benefits as other PSRPs who work a 208-Day Schedule.

10-13.8. Discipline

Discipline for RJCs shall be issued in accordance with Articles 9 and 29 of the CBA. RJCs discharge procedures will be governed under the same terms as delineated for PSRPs.

10-13.9. Salary

RJC employees shall be placed on the 208-Day G0X/NGX-G24/N24-G43/N43 salary schedule.

10-13.9(b)New hire step placement

New hires and transfers will be placed on Step 1 or any appropriate advanced step in accordance with CPS policies.
