13-13. Student Eligibility for Extracurricular Activities

The Scholastic Eligibility for Interscholastic Sports and Activities policy outlines uniform eligibility requirements for students in grade 9 through 12 who wish to participate in Illinois High School Association/Chicago Public Schools sponsored interscholastic athletics and activities. The BOARD shall consult with the UNION prior to making any amendments to this policy. Effective SY 2025-2026, the Board will provide guidance and training to ensure even-handed application of the Revised No-Pass, No-Play Policy, Board Policy Section 605.6, across all sports, extracurricular activities, and schools. The BOARD shall further ensure the even-handed application of the Chicago Public Schools Athletics Constitution and Bylaws, Board Policy Section 601.8, across all sports and schools. Local school administrations cannot establish eligibility criteria that differs from Board policy.
