14-7. Policy on Communicable Diseases

The BOARD policy on the management of communicable diseases, including HIV and AIDS, shall be posted in every school and BOARD facility. The BOARD shall provide guidance for school based staff on assisting students with reported communicable disease and diagnosed chronic conditions where warranted and allowable in accordance with privacy laws. Future updates to this policy will align with changes in law and practice guidance for communicable disease and chronic condition management as determined by regulating agencies to include but not be limited to, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH). The BOARD will inform the UNION of impending changes to BOARD policy and where applicable, bargain in good faith with the UNION over the impact of any such changes.
