17-1. Quiet Time

In full-day pre-K classrooms, a designated quiet time shall be provided during which children shall be allowed to nap or engage in quiet, independent activities. Children may nap during this time; however, no child shall be required to nap. Teachers should consider their students’ ages and developmental needs in addition to the time of the school year when planning for quiet time within their classroom.
