18-19. Clean Energy Jobs and Green Technology CTE Program
Clean Energy Jobs and Green Technology Programs shall be included in the CTE Joint Committee. The CTE Joint Committee shall be renamed to Career Connected Learning Joint Committee and shall be inclusive of all career-focused courses. To that end, the Committee will study and make recommendations related to assessing and consulting on potential pathway development for clean energy jobs, with the goal of expanding the focus from CTE only programs to all potential pathways. The Career Connected Learning Joint Committee shall work with unions and industry partners to create more pre-apprenticeship opportunities for students. The BOARD shall create at least one new and/or adapt an existing pathway to Clean Energy Jobs career-connected pathway in each year of the contract. CPS will work to develop a student and community workforce agreement with the Trades that will identify future opportunities for CPS students and graduates to participate in facility renovations, CTE applications for clean energy renovations, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities and explore clear guidelines and numerical goals for each. CPS will solicit feedback from CTU in the development of these initiatives.
