32-8. Maternal Health and Racial Healthcare Disparities
The LMCC shall continue to discuss and plan use of the district and Trust’s resources to initiate pilot programs and initiatives to address maternal care needs (including fertility care and embryo storage) and racial healthcare disparities, including but not limited to:
- Reduction of copays/out of pocket maximums/ annual contributions/adjusting the annual benefits base rate (ABBR) salary cap or renegotiating a new employee contribution model all together.
- Automatic access to higher quality care, therapeutic supports
- No restriction or additional costs associated with accessing abortion or related health services while in the State of Illinois.
- Weight loss drug access beyond those approved for diabetes diagnosis to include additional conditions and seek ways to extend the 6 month override for GLP-1 medications.
- Efforts to revise health plans to improve women’s healthcare and close racial gaps.
