37-6. Transfer of Sick Days

Employees may donate up to ten (10) sick days from their Grandfathered or CTU sick day banks to another employee who is suffering from a serious medical condition and who is on an approved leave of absence. An employee receiving a donation of sick days may not receive more than forty-five (45) days of sick leave in the aggregate from donor-employees and may only receive a donation once during their employment with the BOARD. Recipients of donated sick days are eligible to apply and receive the donated days while on a Board-approved medical leave of absence for a serious illness or leave of absence to care for a child or family member with a serious illness, however employees are not eligible to use them until they exhaust their benefit day banks. Recipient employees must be on a Board-approved leave of absence for a serious medical condition or a leave of absence to care for a child or family member experiencing a serious health condition.
