9-9. Advance Step Placement at time of Teacher Appointment

When the BOARD appoints a PSRP to a full-time teaching position and the PSRP has been employed by the BOARD for a minimum of any one full school year prior to appointment to the teaching position, the BOARD shall place the PSRP on a step equivalent to their years of service as a PSRP with the BOARD up to Step 5 for up to 7 years of relevant full-time prior work experience outside of CPS as approved by the Board, subject to applicable CPS policies and procedures. They shall retain all accumulated sick and personal business days accumulated as a PSRP. All additional applicable benefits shall be transferred to said new teacher and they shall be granted one year of teacher seniority for the years employed as a PSRP.
